Advocacy for All Nurses
TNA Works for You!
The Texas Capitol in Austin may seem a world away from a nurse's day-to-day practice. To TNA, it’s practically home. TNA spends significant time at the Capitol advocating for nurses, the nursing profession, and quality health care for all Texans. TNA also monitors and works with the Texas Board of Nursing, partner nursing specialty groups, and hospitals and physician groups whenever possible.
Created in 2015, the TNA Policy Council is a group of approximately 20 nurses chosen from around the state with a variety of roles and backgrounds. Members of the Policy Council participate in committees investigating issues of importance to nurses and produce policy positions for approval by the Board of Directors.
Nursing Legislative Agenda Coalition (NLAC)
NLAC is a TNA-hosted coalition of about 20 nursing and health care-related organizations that have come together for the last several sessions to identify and fight for common legislative priorities. For the 84th Legislative Session, NLAC focused on these priorities.
TEXAS NURSE PAC
TNA's political action committee, TEXAS NURSE PAC identifies candidates deserving of nurses' endorsement and financial support in races for the Texas Senate, Texas House of Representatives, and selected statewide races including the governor and lieutenant governor races.
