Continuing Nursing Education

To receive a certificate of successful completion for 1.0 contact hour:

    1. Once you complete the registration form, you may use your Visa®, MasterCard®, or American Express®, to pay the processing fee:  $10 for TNA members  and $15 for non-members.
    2. The transaction confirmation page includes a link to the post-test  Also, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a link to the online activity.  Save the email until you finish the activity.  If you need to leave it and come back, the e-mail confirmation will be your link to return to the activity.
    3. Read the activity.
    4. Take the post-test. To successfully complete the post-test, you must achieve a score of 80% or better.
    5. Complete the evaluation tool.
    6. You will then be able to print your Certificate of Successful Completion for 1.0 contact hour

This educational activity's purpose is to enhance the knowledge base and practice of the registered nurse by outlining the limitations of human performance as it influences fitness for duty and the nurse’s ability to practice safely.

In Setting Staffing Levels, Nurses Know Best

Nurses in hospital settings will be educated with current information about the
Safe Hospital Staffing Act (SB 476), the new Texas law that addresses safe staffing for effective patient care.

Echoes of the Past: H1N1 2009

EXPIRES OCTOBER 22, 2011

Registered Nurses will be provided with information about the H1N1 (Swine) flu in an effort to prepare them for the strategic role they will play in communicating about and preparing for a major influenza pandemic.

 

Accreditation Statement

The Texas Nurses Association/Foundation Provider Unit is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Staffing: Strategies for Self and patient Advocacy The purpose of this educational activity is to promote an understanding of Texas regulations that support nurse self and patient advocacy related to patient assignments.
Nursing Shortage: The Perfect Storm The purpose of this educational activity is to highlight the important role of communication in patient safety and to provide nurses with tools to enhance the effectiveness of their communication and safety practices within their work environment.
