APRN Economic Impact Report Released by Texas Team Shows Huge Economic Gains for Texas, Promises Health Care Shortage Relief

At a Texas Capitol-held press conference on May 14, the Texas Team Action Coalition, convened to advance the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, released a report by noted Texas economist Dr. Ray Perryman that provides evidence that the efficient use of advanced practice nurses would immediately benefit Texas, create permanent jobs, and make health care more available statewide.

The report projects that reducing unnecessary restrictions on APRN practice to permit fuller utilization will result in Texas seeing an annual increase of $8 billion in gross product and an annual creation of 97,000 permanent jobs.
