Advancing excellence in nursing is a lofty ambition. It requires a spirit of commitment and cooperation by those who share the vision of quality health care for all Texans.
In pursuit of that shared vision, Texas Nurses Association (TNA) recognizes many collaborators, including the American Nurses Association (ANA) - the national nursing organization of which TNA is a state constitutent member; and numerous state agencies in Texas such as the Board of Nursing and the Texas Department of State Health Services.
TNA also collaborates with others to leverage the impact on nursing- and health care-related legislation. These include the member organizations of the Nursing Legislative Agenda Coalition (NLAC), the Texas Association of Nurse Anesthetists (TANA) and the TX RN/APN PAC.
TNA members also proudly count as affilitates the Texas Nurses Foundation (TNF) with its independently operated projects and programs; the NACES Plus Foundation, Inc. (the Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Service), established to help ensure competency of nurse aides in long-term care; and Ready Texas Nurses, a web-based, emergency response system that activates volunteer nurses in times of emergency or disaster.
