Case Manager

 

The Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses (TPAPN) is seeking a Case Manager to support nurse participants in its program. TPAPN provides a non-disciplinary option for nurses experiencing substance use and/or mental health issues and assists program participants through recovery and integration back into practice.

 

Job Description

The Case Manager will:

  • Provide guidance to participants regarding program requirements
  • Provide case management and monitoring services to participants
  • Direct volunteer advocates – nurse volunteers who help participants meet their goals
  • Serve as a liaison to employers, treatment providers, the Board of Nursing, and the general public regarding TPAPN programs
  • Serve as a resource person and consultant on substance use and psychiatric disorders in nurses
  • Collaborate with other Case Managers and TPAPN team members in order to provide excellent service to participants

 

TPAPN is seeking a strong communicator who is comfortable working one-on-one with participants and advocates as well as presenting information about TPAPN programs to larger audiences. The ideal candidate will possess excellent time management and organizational skills, and work well independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

 

Job Requirements

  • Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience with substance use and/or psychiatric disorders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of resources and referral specialties
  • Proven ability to provide education for professional nurses and other targeted groups statewide
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Additional licensure or relevant national certification related to substance use disorders and/or psychiatric care preferred
  • Experience with case management software preferred

 

Occasional travel, weekend and evening, and on-call work required.

The Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses (TPAPN), a program of the Texas Nurses Foundation, helps nurses whose ability to provide professional nursing services may be impaired by substance use or mental illness to return to safe practice as an alternative to license discipline.  TPAPN provides case management, monitoring, support and educational services.
