TNA's Legislative and Policy Goals
Before each legislative session, TNA listens to its members, convenes the TNA Policy Council, hosts the Nursing Legislative Agenda Coalition, which is comprised of many nursing specialty groups, engages the TNA Governmental Affairs Committee to answer the question:
"What matters most to nurses, and how do we best achieve our shared goals?"
With input from members throughout the state, TNA identified priorities for the 85th Legislative Session. And for the first time in our history, TNA has created a professional policy book that is available to the public here and will be distributed to every legislator at the Texas Capitol!
Short on Time?
If you don't have time time to read the whole book, or are interested in just one or two topics, below is an overview of the policy positions as well as issue-specific sections from the book that you can download separately:
For more information on the policy positions or the process to produce those positions, please contact TNA General Counsel and Director of Government Affairs Andrew Cates at ACates@texasnurses.org.
