|TNA Policy Council|
The Texas Nursing Association has launched the TNA Policy Council, a TNA workgroup that researches, develops, and makes recommendations to the TNA board on public policy priorities. The TNA Policy Council will meet biannually in Austin to discuss the issues that face nurses in the state of Texas.
TNA received more than 200 submissions for the inaugural Policy Council from highly-qualified nurses throughout Texas. Thank you to all who applied.
How to Get Involved Now
The next application period for the TNA Policy Council will occur in 2017. In the interim, if you are interested in helping to shape Texas nursing policy, you are encouraged to apply as an expert advisor, who participates via email and is assigned to a specific committee--Workplace Advocacy, APRN, Regulatory, or Education. Expert advisors receive the handouts and minutes of the committee's meetings and provide feedback to the committee members. To apply, email Andrew Cates at Acates@texasnurses.org with your committee preference.
