25 Outstanding Texas Nurses
The annual Texas Nurses Association Award focuses on recognizing the contributions of 25 Texas registered nurses. We are looking for nurses who create a culture of care, nurses who play a vital role in supporting health and wellness, nurse innovators, community contributors and frontline heroes. Every two years, the Texas Nurses Foundation honors Texas Nurses Association members, both living and deceased, whose volunteer service to the association significantly contributed to TNA and health transformation locally, state-wide and nationally. Legends include members who has served on a committee, task force, special work group or the board of the Texas Nurses Association, or a member who has represented the association through their appointment to a statewide committee, task force, coalition or other policy group between the years of 1960 and 2000.

Year of the Nurse Awards
In conjunction with Texas Nurses Association, TNF created the 20 for 2020 Nurse Awards to honor nurses who went above and beyond during an extraordinary year: The Year of the Nurse, as declared by the World Health Organization. Nominated by their peers, colleagues, community or family and selected by the boards of TNA and TNF, these nurses have made a difference in creating a culture of care, playing a vital role in supporting health and wellness, as nursing innovators or community contributors and frontline heroes. In addition to the 20 awardees, the boards selected 22 honorable mentions.
