Care for the Caregiver

With funding from Johnson and Johnson, TNF, TNA and the Texas Organization of Nurse Leaders created Care for the Caregiver to provide preparedness training, resiliency resources and tips for crises and disasters for nurses. In addition to graphics for social media, the toolkit contains video tutorials on:

  • Strategies for preparing both at home and at work for a disaster, such as a hurricane, earthquake, flood or wildfire
  • Techniques for mitigation of stress responses during disasters by understanding how their personality may affect their resiliency.
  • How nurses can be affected by stress, PTSD and compassion fatigue after a disaster and how personal resilience can affect responses to stressful situations.
