May is National Nurses Month, and the week of May 1-9 is all about self-care. In this tense, stressful and challenging environment during the COVID-19 response, managing stress is critical.

The Managing Stress presentation will help nurses acknowledge the impact of COVID-19, recognize the effects on your mental health and well-being, understand how to manage through the uncertainty, and implement strategies to practice resilience. There will be time for questions throughout the presentation.

This dynamic workshop has been customized to address particular areas of concern relating to stress and emotional distress that is impacting  nurses. Topics covered during the workshop include:

  • Stress management and resilience 
  • Secondary stress and compassion fatigue
  • Coping with health concerns as a healthcare professional
  • Practicing self-care for caregivers


Presenter

Kaur Bhugra Manendra, MA, LMSW, Manager of Learning and Development, CCA,Inc. 

Manendra holds a MA in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a MS in social work from Columbia University, and qualifications in instructional design from New York University. Manendra utilizes her clinical background to engage participants and address resistance or barriers occurring in the sessions. Leveraging various mediums from traditional classroom and facilitated workshops, through mentoring, counseling and coaching, to peer and self-directed learning, as well as e-learning and digital media learning solutions, Manendra has extensive experience in configuring, managing and facilitating development programs and learning journeys.
