The Texas Nurses EBP Fellowship Program is a transformative journey for practicing clinical nurses that is designed to improve patient care through evidence-based practice.
 This 6-month fellowship brings together nurses across the state to learn, innovate, and implement cutting-edge research in their practice areas. The program includes six educational modules that follow the EBP steps adapted from the Johns Hopkins EBP Model:
- Formulate a practice question;
- Conduct a literature search;
- Critically appraise and synthesize evidence;
- Develop practice recommendations and an implementation plan;
- Implement and evaluate EBP project; and
- Establish a dissemination plan.
Participants will have access to program content in the online learning management system as they concurrently develop and implement an EBP project during the program. During live monthly Zoom meetings, program faculty will help participants apply what they have learned to their real-life EBP projects.
Regardless of educational background or experience with EBP, all nurses will receive mentorship from seasoned experts, collaborate to implement impactful projects, and emerge as leaders in EBP, ready to drive positive change and improve patient outcomes. When nurses implement evidence into their practice, research shows that their patients have better outcomes, costs are lowered, and nursing job satisfaction improves.
