This workshop covers the nursing peer review law and BON rules on incident-based and safe harbor nursing peer review. Topics include mandatory reporting requirements, due process protections, minor incidents, external factors review, and a just culture approach. This workshop meets the BON requirements for nursing jurisprudence and ethics CNE. Flexible scheduling for six contact hours total. Zoom information will be sent prior to the virtual workshop.

Dr. Serena Bumpus, currently serves as the Director of Practice for the Texas Nurses Association where she is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and responding to evolving issues affecting nursing practice and policy in Texas. Dr. Bumpus's
nursing career spans over 18 years where she has held various positions from staff nurse to Regional Director of Nursing, all in the acute care hospital setting. She received her Associates of Applied Science in Nursing from Austin Community
College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Nursing (TTUHSC SON), Masters of Science in Nursing Administration from TTUHSC SON and in 2019 graduated with her Doctorate of Nursing
Practice in Executive Leadership from TTUHSC SON. |
