The Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses (TPAPN) is seeking a Case Manager to monitor nurse participants in its programs. TPAPN provides a support mechanism for nurses experiencing chemical dependency issues and/or mental illness and assists program participants through recovery and integration back into practice.
Case Manager
The Case Manager will:
Provide guidance to participants regarding programrequirements
Direct volunteer advocates – nurse volunteers who help participants meet theirgoals
Serve as a liaison to employers, treatment providers, the Board of Nursing, and the general public regarding TPAPNprograms
Serve as a resource person and consultant on substance use and psychiatric disorders innurses
Collaborate with other Case Managers and TPAPN team members in order to provide excellent service toparticipants
TPAPN is seeking a strong communicator who is comfortable working one-on-one with participants and advocates as well as presenting information about TPAPN programs to larger audiences. The ideal candidate will possess excellent time management and organizational skills, and work well independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Job Requirements
Current licensure in Texas as a RegisteredNurse
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing(BSN)
Minimum of three years clinical experience with substance use and/or psychiatricdisorders
Demonstrated knowledge of resources and referralspecialties
Proven ability to provide education for professional nurses and other targeted groupsstatewide
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MicrosoftOffice
Additional licensure or relevant national certification related to substance use disorders and/or psychiatric carepreferred.
Experience with case management software preferred
Occasional travel, weekend and evening, and on-call work required.
