The recent election and the makeup of the legislature will greatly affect how Texas Nurses Association and other members of the Nursing Legislative Agenda Coalition advocate for nurses and nursing. Given the global pandemic and the impact it has had on the delivery of care, this will be one of the most important sessions in decades. Learn about the issues and how to ensure that you have a seat at the table. PresenterKevin C. Stewart, JD, is an attorney and political consultant based out of Austin. He attended The University of Texas at Austin for both his undergraduate and law degrees, focusing his studies on health law, the legislative process, and statutory interpretation. He works with a handful of nursing organizations, and he has worked specifically with Texas Nurses Association since 2015. Kevin is also the author of the Texas Legislative Law Handbook and a member of the Legislative and Campaign Law Section of the State Bar.

The Nurse Talks Empowerment Series is designed to bring diverse groups of nurses together to engage in thoughtful conversation about important topics. After the short presentation and Q&A session, break out room facilitators will lead discussions with nurses in attendance and send the feedback to TNA.
