Our hearts go out to those affected by the shooting in El Paso.  We condemn this terrible act and recognize that racist sentiments have no place in our diverse state. When tragedy strikes a community, nurses are always intimately affected.

To the nurses of El Paso: We know that you are more than nurses at times like these. You are friends, family, and neighbors. We don’t know what you were feeling on Saturday, but we do know that your actions help reduce further loss of life. Thank you for being on duty before, during and after, and thank you for your compassionate community response to this needless tragedy.

We are proud to stand beside you and work with you in this most difficult time. It is a privilege to represent you and Texas nurses of all backgrounds and ethnicities.
