In the days and weeks since Winter Storm Uri, you may have seen headlines about $17,000 electric bills and retail electric providers going out of business. We know countless Texans have been shaken by the extent of damage caused by the winter storm. Many
of TNA’s staff and board were affected and without power for days.
At TNA, we are always working to provide useful services to our members and to all nurses in Texas. Several months ago, we teamed up with retail electric provider TriEagle Energy to develop exclusive plans and offers for you with simple, low rates. The
launch of these benefits was planned weeks in advance, but we felt we had to roll it out as quickly as possible following recent events.
As the storm has provoked questions about Texas electricity suppliers, we asked TriEagle Energy to provide straightforward answers to help you make an informed decision about signing up. We hope this new partnership can bring Texas nurses some peace of
mind.
How does TriEagle work?
- TriEagle offers affordable, dependable electricity plans that make sense for your home and your budget.
- TriEagle provides tools like regular usage reports and smart thermostats to help you manage your electricity usage and save money.
- All TriEagle plans include simple, fixed rates with no hidden charges.
Will TriEagle customers’ rates change during extreme winter or summer weather?
- No matter your plan with TriEagle Energy, you won’t see changes to your rate due to events like the winter weather emergency.
- TriEagle Energy provides rates you can lock in for 12 to 36 months, meaning rates are always insulated from the volatile wholesale market.
I’ve heard about a provider of last resort event. Will that affect me as a TriEagle customer?
- When an electric company is unable to provide services, service switches to a Provider of Last Resort, a state designated back-up electric service provider.
- You don’t have to worry about being switched to another provider from TriEagle Energy. TriEagle is here for the long haul.
Only nurses in parts of Texas open to retail electric competition can sign up for TriEagle. Find out if service is available in your area. If you aren’t already a TriEagle Energy customer,
now might be the perfect time to sign up.
Even better, nurses who sign up with TriEagle Energy will be supporting the Texas Nurses Association, where a portion of what you pay for electricity goes back to the TNA.
“TriEagle Energy is proud to offer electricity plans exclusively for members of the Texas Nurses Association, with simple rates and no hidden fees,” said Sam Sen, vice president of TriEagle Energy Solutions. “We look forward to serving this community
through our innovative energy products and customer-first mindset — all while supporting an association that serves as a powerful voice for nurses in Texas.”
