The Nursing Legislative Agenda Coalition (NLAC) is a coalition of nursing organizations around Texas that join together to share ideas, strategies, and priorities for nursing issues during the Texas Legislature. Each legislative session,
NLAC lobbies the Capitol to support a nursing legislative agenda that the coalition developed and agreed upon during the interim. This joint effort raises the stakes for legislators by including tens of thousands of nurses on each
agenda item and amplifying our collective voice on issues that would not be possible by any individual organization alone.
Currently, NLAC is meeting bi-monthly to discuss the COVID-19 crisis and how it's affecting nurses in all scopes of practice. Normally, NLAC meets twice during the Texas legislative interim - in late spring/early summer, to lay the foundation
for the next Nursing Legislative Agenda and again in the fall, to finalize the agenda and discuss nursing's legislative plan for the 87
th Texas Legislature. For more information, please contact us.
NLAC membership enrollment is still open! Enrollment for 2021-2022 NLAC membership will open in November 2020. Review the NLAC Membership Agreement now
and join us in ensuring that nursing's influence is included at the state Capitol when lawmakers examine and take action on health care policy issues
