It’s Conference Week – Are You Ready?
We’ve waited all year to join you in Austin for the Texas Nurses Association Annual Conference, and it’s finally here! This year’s theme, The Power of Us: Advancing Our Profession Together, speaks
to the heart of who we are as nurses and as a profession. Together, our voices are amplified. Together, we solve complex challenges. Together, we lead change and advance nursing.
This week’s Practice Tip is a member-exclusive preview
of the incredible events planned and a guide to help you prepare and get the most from your experience.
What to Bring
Gala Attire
Pack your best dress or suit for the Texas Nurses Foundation Gala;
a night of celebration, recognition, and giving back. Tickets are required. If you haven’t secured yours yet, stop by registration early Thursday afternoon. A limited number of seats may still be available, but they will sell out. The Gala is lively,
inspiring, and a highlight of the weekend.
Comfortable Shoes
You’ll want them! From the Friday morning energy walk hosted by the Wilderness Medicine Society to impromptu networking strolls and endurance activities,
your feet will thank you. Austin offers excellent restaurants, live music, and local shops within walking distance of the venue—perfect for post-conference outings.
Books for a Cause
Join us in supporting NICU
families through our book drive and letter-writing campaign, in partnership with the March of Dimes. Bring new or gently used children’s books or stop by their booth to write a heartfelt letter to a NICU family. It’s a small act with big impact.
Download the WHOVA App
WHOVA is your all-access pass to the conference. Find your personalized agenda, participate in live chats and polls, and stay in the loop with real-time updates. The app also hosts our scavenger hunt,
exhibitor guide, and key announcements. Download it early and explore the interface to stay ahead.
Bonus Tips for a Powerful Conference Experience
Plan Your Agenda Early
Sessions
fill quickly—highlight your must-attend events, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities. Use WHOVA to bookmark your favorites.
Bring Business Cards or Digital Contact Info
Networking is a major part of this
experience. Don’t miss your chance to make lasting professional connections. Consider preparing a short personal pitch or “elevator speech” to introduce yourself confidently.
Hydrate and Rest
Conferences are exciting
but also physically demanding. Bring a reusable water bottle and take breaks when needed. You’ll get more out of the event if you stay energized and well-rested.
Engage on Social Media
Use the official conference
hashtag #ThePowerOfUs to join the digital conversation. Share your insights, tag new friends, and connect with speakers and vendors online.
We can’t wait to see you in Austin. You are part of a movement—powerful, passionate,
and purposeful. Let’s make this year’s conference unforgettable.
